The Property
“Of Soil and Stars” is located in Nevada County, nestled in the Sierra foothills. Our retreat space is on 12 acres. We have spent countless hours building various amentities including sauna cold plunge, glamping sites, walking trails, outdoor kitchen and bathhouse. We gather in our 30 ft yurt for sacred song cirlces and other community meetings.
Car-camping and tent-camping spots are scattered about and will be shown upon arrival.
The property is equiped with multiple bathrooms including an outdoor bath house with heated outdoor shower.
The Nevada County Foothills
The property feels secluded and remote, but it is only 15 minutes to Grass Valley! This means that there is easy access to the Briar Patch Food Coop, other grocery stores, gas stations.
There are great hiking trails in the surrounding area for the spring and winter. We recommend using the All Trails app to fit your needs.
For the summer and fall, you can swim in the magical Yuba River, Rollins Lake, Scotts Flat, or the Bear River swimming hole just down the street. All are available via google maps.
💻 Prep Zoom Call
We will gather for a preparation Zoom call ~2 weeks before the retreat. This call is highly encouraged, as it sets the tone for our time together and gives you a chance to connect, ask questions, and receive guidance for your preparation process.

During Your Retreat ✨
🚗 Parking & Property
Upon arrival, depending on whether you’re car-camping or not, someone will direct you to the appropriate parking spot.
Parking is limited — oversized campers or vehicles are not advised due to the steep driveway and lack of space.
If you plan to leave after dark, park accordingly for an easy exit.
🪶 Mindful of Neighbors
The property is in a rural neighborhood with neighbors on all sides.
Keep voices gentle and language considerate — sound carries easily in the hills.
After the circle closes, please remain aware of noise as we decompress outdoors.
📵 Cell Service & Wi-Fi
The property is mostly in a dead zone with limited service but there is Wifi.
During song circle, phones must remain in your vehicle or tent on silent.
No cell phones are permitted inside the yurt during circle.
